Boonie's

We were looking to go out to dinner someplace but hadn't decided where. We loaded up the kids and took off with no clear direction in mind. We started heading West and about a half hour later we decided to turn South to see if we could find our way back to Boonie's Bar and Grill in Millersburg. Last year we went for a motorcycle ride that the fire department was helping fundraise with and stopped there to collect a stamp.

This little bar and grill sits right off the road on the edge of a farm. It is almost like the farmer opened up a little store/restaurant on their farm and the public flocked at their new establishment.

If you continue to the back of Boonie's you'll walk out to their recreational area. It's pretty neat out there. They have pool tables, horseshoe pits, a waterfall/fountain. It seems like a fun place to go.

What is nice, is that this is only about 25 minutes from our house if we go directly there - unlike today where we detoured and took a hour to get there. We had the kids fooled when they realized we were just outside of Northfield.

Snapper

We were visiting Nick's Grandma Adelmann when we saw somthing in the driveway. It's too bad the kids weren't there with us. They would have loved to see the snapping turtle. It must live in the pond on her farm that we fish in. I'm sure Nick is thankful that we only catch bullheads.

It's a good thing I'm not usually around in the morning to see them off to school.

I just might have to step in and say "You're not leaving the house dressed like that!"

in 10 years I'll probably be saying it for a different reason.

Story Time

I just LOVE that Seth and Sam are all about spending time with Addy. It was almost bedtime, showers were finished and Sam was reading books to her brother and sister. She is one spoiled baby!

Chasing Bugs

We were all at Grandpa Jim's and I was getting ready to run to Cannon Falls to get Subway. I couldn't find Seth so I started walking around the shop. He didn't see me, so I just stood back and watched. I couldn't figure out what he was doing until all of a sudden he dropped to the ground with his hands cupped over the grass.

Ahh - he was chasing bugs.

Tootsers

It's official - Addy has discovered her tootsers. She now likes to hold onto her pant legs to help lift her feet while we put on her socks. She holds up her toes nicely while we change her bottom. She is still practicing with letting her tootsers go so we can fasten her diapers. We have learned to move fast.

Marie's Pool Party

We were invited to a pool party being thrown by Marie Otte, Addy's daycare provider. We were able to adjust our parenting schedule to have Seth and Sam today so they could have some fun too.

Seth forgot his swim trunks and towel. I dropped everyone off at the party to run to Target to pick Addy up some swim diapers. Seth called me just in time to grab him a pair too.

Addy didn't mind the pool - It was just a bit loud in there for her likings.
