3-2-1 Pose

Our first campsite was "Chris's Camp" in Spearfish, South Dakota. Not too far from the Wyoming border. Sam was super excited to see wild mustangs running around once we crossed the border.

The pool opened up for about a hour in between lightening storms and the kids took advantage of that hour. Ready - Set - Go!!
Sam mastered the "Scare the Bear" pose we were practicing for our island trip next month.
Seth mastered the "I'm a Cat and hate water" pose. Unfortunately for Seth, the cat, he sunk.

We unloaded the truck into our camping cabin, made up the beds and got to bed early. In the morning we're packing early and heading to Devils Tower, then down to Hill City where we would spend the rest of our vacation exploring.

Take Our Picture

Sam: "Momma, take our picture with this lady"
Me: "What lady?" Thinking they were talking about a real lady.
Seth: "The one sitting by herself" as he point to her.

These are the memories they would like to keep.

Dinosaurs Are Back

During our visit to Wall Drug we came around a corner to see this dinosaur come to life. He was moving around back there, eyes glowing read, steam from all around him and he was looking hungry. I had the kids stand there to take their pictures. They didn't notice he was starting to wake up for a feeding. No worries - they knew what they were getting themselves into.

Wall Drug

More Wall Drug times.
It took some effort getting Seth to hop on the Jack-a-lope.
Maybe he was worried it would take off running.
They look good as ole' westerners.

Dirty Smiles

On our trip out to the Black Hills, we stopped at a diner in Murdo, South Dakota for some lunch. Addy was just introduced to fruit puffs a few days ago. We put some on the table and when she ate them all, she'd give us this look.

This face would make anybody smile.
She's so cute :)

Freeze!

Wall Drug - it sure has changed since I was there last. Seth and Nick found the shooting range. Thankfully, it was in an arcade setting, otherwise I'd have to have a discussion with Nick about having his baby girl strapped to his chest while shooting things. This is my family... and I love them all :)

I'm Ready... Or, Not...

Seth came home from another fun-filled weekend at Scout Camp. I sent him off to the shower to wash the stink and three days of dirt, sweat and probably tears off of his body. After he got out of the shower we were going to go play in the water. "Seth, are you ready?" I hollered from the back door. No answer. It didn't really surprise me since he is often lost in his own world. Within five minutes, he was passed out cold.
This is a for sure sign that he had one heck of a weekend!
