My Throat

Sunday I picked Seth up from his Dad.
Within minutes I hear "My throat hurts Momma"
"Would you like some water"
but no, it doesn't help.

When did it start hurting? I ask
Last Thursday morning.

Seth even asked for some medicine because it was keeping him up at night.

The next morning, Momma called the Doctor and the Doctor said...
Strep!

Momma, can you take a picture so I can see please?
Too dark, come closer.

What a beautiful blister you have Seth.

My turn, My turn! (Sam)
ahhh... I love it!

Geraldine June Williams

Grandma, Grandpa and Sommer at my first wedding.

Today would have been my Grandma Gerry's 83rd Birthday
Had it she not passed away last November 5th.

You never realize how much a person means to you until they are no longer here to hug.

I am sad that she was not able to be there to celebrate my marriage with Nick. She did tell me often how she likes him very much, and how she can see that I am much happier since meeting him.

I am sad that I can't share the news with her that she will be a grandma of 15 come December.
Sommer, Grandma Gerry, myself, and Great Grandma Mary

I am sad that she is no longer here to hug my kids, the same way she would hug me when I was little.

I am sad that I can't hear her cheerful voice anymore, or call her and hear her say "mmmm hello" when she answers the phone.

I am sad that I didn't take more pictures of my Grandma with my kids, or with even just me.

What I am not sad for, is having her in my life.
For spending long summer weeks at the cabin with both of my grandparents.

Grandma's Facebook profile picture.
For her getting me hooked on The Young and The Restless, The Price is Right and Sally Jessie Rafael for a number of years.

For loving every minute she spent with us, even when we wore her thin!

I am grateful for all of the memories she gave me.

She was a great influence on my life. I just didn't realize how much one person can affect you, until it is too late.

Happy Birthday Grandma! I will forever miss you!

A Historic Day!

This weekend I was left all alone...
The kids were with Dave all week, and
Nick was on a bike trip to Milwaukee with his Dad to visit Junior.

I cut the grass, weed whipped, pulled weeds, folded clothes
and played some MarioKart on our Wii.

Then my tummy started growling. It was lunch time and I needed to eat.
Hmmm... what sounds good?
I decided to go to the movies (by myself) and have some popcorn to fill me up.
Popcorn is healthy... well, at least before they pour on the butter and before I load it with salt.
I have never went to the movies by myself. I always felt like people would look at me funny
for going to the movies alone. What movie did I go see? The Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Yup, you read right, and I thought it was great!

After making history by going to a movie by myself, I went home, played MarioKart a little more,
and figured I should run to Menards to pick up a longer garden hose and some nozzles for our water spickets. I was starting to get hungry again, and had no interest in making myself dinner.
Fast food didn't sound good, so I decided to make the historic day, even more historic.

Today was also my first day going to a sit-down restaurant (with a waitress) and eat by myself.
Once again, I felt funny! Like people would be wondering - Why is she eating by herself?
Doesn't she have friends or family who she could be eating with.
I tell myself some pretty lame stories.

I gotta say, I've never been in and out of AppleBees within 35 minutes before.

A historic day with breaking my own rules twice,
and not letting my stories stop me,
from being okay by myself.

Do Not Enter

Where was your finger!
Don't tell me a story!
I know what you are doing!
No pickin' and eatin'!!

How appropriate is the sign behind us!
Do Not Enter!
Love ya Bugs!

I'd like to buy...

What a beautiful view!

At the corner of 80 South and Blaine in Castle Rock Township,
is the location of our future home!

Well, don't quote me. We can all have dreams!
Now to pull out the plat book and figure out who owns this farm field.
My husband has some wheelin' and dealin' to do!

I'm not weak!

In an effort to show us that he is stong too.
Seth decided to carry Sam around the store.

It was quite funny, and for once we all agreed it was.

Miss Muscles

Something just isn't right!

Who is older?
Who is stronger?
Who is carrying the heavy stuff?

Seth is carrying a rope to tie to the inner tube.
Sam is carrying Grandma's heavy boat bag.
Seth just laughed. What a pah-tooshey!
