There is always a shadow

Every year we watch to see if  Punxsutawney Phil, the famous groundhog, sees his shadow. If so he is scared back into hybernation and we should expect another six weeks of winter. If not, we will have an early spring.

Have we even had a winter this year? The calendar says it should be winter now, but that doesn't seem to be the case. We received a few inches of snow in November, a few dustings that never seem to stick for long. There have been only a couple really chilly days but for the most part this winter has been lacking snow and holding in the mid 30's.

Today is the day we alway hope that Punxsutawney Phil doesn't see his shadow. Does he this year... but of course! Another six weeks of "winter".4
